About us

The only specialist
who chooses progressive therapy, reducing surgery to a last resort.

Dr. Ece Yucel is a thoracic surgeon specializing in the treatment of the sympathetic nervous system. With 13 years of experience — 9 of which have been dedicated exclusively to hyperhidrosis — she founded Clinica SU guided by a single and precise principle: prioritizing conservative treatments and choosing surgery only as a last resort.

Trained at Columbia University (New York), Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität (Munich), and Campus Bio-Medico (Rome), where she wrote her thesis on ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocols. She strongly adopts these protocols to ensure her patients a recovery path that is rapid, less painful, and clinically optimized. She is a member of the ESTS (European Society of Thoracic Surgery), the ESTS Hyperhidrosis Consensus Study Group, and the ISSS (International Society of Sympathetic Surgery) and the SIET (Society Italian of Endoscopy Thoracic).

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis
what is it?

Craniofacial Hyperhidrosis

Sweating of the face and scalp is often underestimated but profoundly limiting. It requires a specific evaluation to rule out secondary causes (hormonal, neurological) before any treatment.

Available options:

  • checkmark Medical Botulinum Toxin
  • checkmark Advanced Medical Iontophoresis

Axillary Hyperhidrosis

Axillary hyperhidrosis is the most common and socially impactful form. Visible stains, persistent odor, the inability to wear certain colors: it is not an aesthetic problem, it is a clinical condition that deserves an appropriate approach.

Available options:

  • checkmark Topical and Systemic Treatments
  • checkmark Advanced and Personalized Medical Iontophoresis
  • checkmark Medical Botulinum Toxin
  • checkmark Thermal Treatment MiraDry®

Palmar Hyperhidrosis

Sweating hands condition every human contact: handshakes, keyboards, documents, musical instruments, cooking, petting animals, and using smartphones, tablets, and other smart devices. Palmar hyperhidrosis responds well to iontophoresis and botulinum toxin, avoiding surgery in the vast majority of cases.

Available options:

  • checkmark Topical and Systemic Treatments
  • checkmark Advanced Medical Iontophoresis
  • segno di spunta Medical Botulinum Toxin
  • checkmark Evaluation for Bilateral Minimally Invasive Sympathectomy (selected cases only)

Our journey
1

Book an evaluation

A 45–60 minute specialist consultation. You bring your story, we provide the time to listen to it without rushing and without ready-made solutions.

2

Diagnosis and mapping

We analyze the type of sweating disorder, the affected areas, the factors influencing it, and the response of the sympathetic nervous system. From this evaluation, a personalized, shared therapeutic plan is created, based on the options best suited to each individual patient.

Your treatment, on your time

We always start with the least invasive approach, shared with you. Each subsequent step is proposed only if necessary, and always with your full informed consent.

Faq
  • 1. Why choose ClinicaSU?
    ClinicaSU is the first center in Italy capable of offering all the main therapies for abnormal sweating and hyperhidrosis in a single facility.
    For us, they are not synonyms: we distinguish between the different causes of sweating and build a diagnostic and therapeutic pathway based on scientific evidence, avoiding standardized and superficial approaches. Our goal is to identify the most effective solution for each individual patient.
  • 2. Why do I sweat excessively even without heat or physical exertion?
    Hyperhidrosis is a condition of the autonomic nervous system that causes sweating beyond actual thermoregulation needs. It is not merely a cosmetic issue, but a disruption of neurophysiological regulation that requires a targeted specialist evaluation.
  • 3. How is the most suitable treatment determined for my case?
    The therapeutic choice is not standardized but is based on a comprehensive clinical evaluation that considers the type of hyperhidrosis, the areas involved, severity, and individual response. The pathway always follows a progressive approach, from the least invasive solutions to advanced options, including surgery when necessary.
  • 4. Why is ClinicaSU different from other centers?
    ClinicaSU adopts the Ultra Viola Method, an approach that interprets hyperhidrosis as a disruption of autonomic nervous system regulation and not just as a skin issue. The goal is not to suppress the symptom, but to modulate the neurophysiological response through an integrated pathway that includes conservative therapies, advanced technologies, and functional surgery in selected cases.
  • 5. Do MiraDry® thermal technologies offer permanent results?
    Thermal technologies allow for a significant and often long-lasting reduction in sweating in the treated area and in bromhidrosis (odor). The response is individual and is always evaluated within the context of the entire sudomotor system.
  • 6. When is it necessary to resort to surgery?
    Surgery (endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy) is indicated in cases of severe palmar hyperhidrosis when conservative and minimally invasive treatments are insufficient. The indication is always carefully evaluated against the benefit-risk ratio, particularly regarding potential compensatory sweating.
  • 7. When is it advisable to book a visit?
    It’s time to consult a specialist if:
    - the sweating is excessive relative to the temperature or the activity being performed;
    - it limits work, study, or social life;
    - it causes discomfort or embarrassment in everyday relationships;
    - it has been present for over six months;
    - mainly interested in the face, armpits, hands, and feet.
    A specialist assessment allows you to identify the cause of the sweating and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your needs, with the aim of improving your quality of life and daily well‑being.
